Provençal Home is a family-owned and operated furniture store based in Austin, Texas, since 1994. Our philosophy is finding the most unique products for our customers’ homes and offices made by artisans who know and love the craft of furniture making, and then helping customers accessorize their space to make it their own. From hundreds of lines, we offer furniture, rugs, accessories and linens, and we offer design and delivery services services to clients nationwide.
Looking for a creative outlet, founder Sue Kane Norris started her dream business with husband Don in 1994. From a little yellow house on 35th street in Austin, Texas, to a 9,000 sq. ft. showroom in Austin's Westlake area, Provencal Home has grown to become one of Austin's premiere furniture stores.
Providing superior customer service is our most important business objective. Every decision we make from buying products to design services to which delivery company we use comes down to how it will impact the cusomter and their experience with us.
Technology is key for us for many reasons. Primarily because we rely on our server, retail point-of-sale systems and inventory, accounting and CRM software to service customers quickly and effectively run our business.
While we are not a technology company, we could not run without IT. Currently, we are working on revamping our Website adding more dynamic content. Our site is an extension of our store, and for many customers outside the area, it is their first impressions of us. We are also becoming more active in social media to engage in two-way conversations with our customers to ensure we are listening and making decisions with their needs top of mind.
Additionally, staying connected on the go to respond to customer needs is critical, and I am able to do that from my smart phone no matter where I am or what time of day it is. As an entrepreneur, there is no 9 to 5.
